Dru Yoga has its foundations firmly set in yogic tradition and an emphasis on soft flowing movements that can help increase energy levels, ease back pain, and wash away stress. If you’re feeling agitated, Dru will bring you calmness. If you’re feeling exhausted, it will give you energy. If you’re feeling anxious, it will bring you peace. And most importantly, Dru will help you find that still place, with its sense of fullness, achievement and its deep healing properties, that only yoga and meditation can bring.
The term Dru relates to the North Star – said to be a point of universal stillness around which all else revolves. Dru Yoga practice is about trying to balance our body, emotions and mind to the point where our lives begin to feel nourished by a centre of stillness. Some people will begin to experience the benefits immediately. For others the process takes a little longer. But this centre of stillness is within each of us and the road to positive health and well being is open to all.
Dru is designed to be practised by people of all abilities, fitness levels and age groups and is a style of yoga that can be quickly dipped into or learnt in more depth over a lifetime. Dru is now taught in many different countries and is fast becoming one of the largest yoga organisations in the world. As hundreds of students are finding out every day, at its most simple, Dru Yoga helps relieve the pressures of modern living.
